Button Learning is an educational technology company based in west London. We were founded in 2015 by Fiona Button, whilst studying for an MSc in Educational Neuroscience at Birkbeck / UCL Institute of Education. We were shortlisted for the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards (one of only 10 businesses nationwide) and were part of the UCL Advances Ideas Accelerator in 2015.
In 2017 Button Learning was selected as one of the winners in the annual Let Teachers SHINE competition, run by the SHINE Foundation, a prestigious award that recognises innovation in teaching across the UK. We also won a place on The Young Academy’s education accelerator (Summer 2018 cohort), making connections with other start-ups focused on improving educational outcomes for all.
Since then, we have been developing our visual mnemonics into classroom-ready resources with the talented illustrator Rebecca Lea Williams. We are also currently working on the app of our spelling programme.
